I never used them before but when I read about event parameters I had the idea they can be typically used for storing variables values?

Should I consider them as another case for writing more spaghetti code and embed business logic in the design or are there some advanced use cases where the usage of even parameters do make sense?

Dave uses them in place of scope variable in NotesIn9

session 182 (pretty sure that is the one), I have used the scope variables to pass values back and forth between sessions or views, but Dave uses the URL parameters in this example. I have not used it but it looks intersting and would replace some instances where I use a scope variable. I don't think using the params would work where you need the value to persist. For example I use a sessionScope variable to retain information about where I was and what I was doing when I switch views and come back. Could probably accomplish with the params but not sure it would be better than the scope variable approach. Having said that I use the URL params in links that I create and send out to users so that when they click the link they open the application and perhaps a specific document etc.
