@UserNamesList equivalent
John Spacoli 12.Mar.02 07:19 PM a Web browser
Domino Designer -- LotusScript 5.0.9a; 5.0.9; 5.0.8; 5.0.7a; 5.0.7; 5.0.6a; 5.0.6; 5.0.5; 5.0.4a; 5.0.4; 5.0.3; 5.0.2c; 5.0.2b; 5.0.2a; 5.0.2; 5.0.1c; 5.0.1b; 5.0.1a; 5.0.1; 5.0b; 5.0a Windows 2000

Why was a LS equivalent for @UserNamesList left out?? I am running into the 64k limit when I use this function in LS. For example, if I run this script against a Domino Directory that has over 1500 groups (varying name lengths), and the user appears in 900 of the groups as a nested group member, the function will only return the first X groups before the 64k limit is reached.

Sub size()
Dim sz As Double
groups = Evaluate( "@UserNamesList" )

sz = 0
Forall g In groups
sz = sz + Cdbl(Lenb( g ))
End Forall

Msgbox Cstr(sz)
End Sub

This is very, very frustrating for large organizations/applications that rely on the Domino Directory for security!! The only thing that we have come up with so far is to create small (4 character - 8 byte) group names. At least we would then be able to have around 8000 groups. However, this does not seem like the logical answer here.

Any help/thoughts/suggestions are welcomed!!

TIA
Frustrated John
